Hemi (Baby) is approximately 10 months old and is looking for a German Shepherd experienced home. Hemi spent the first 7 months of her life kept in a basement with very little socialization. She is looking for a forever home that will continue to socialize and train her. Hemi was adopted and returned to rescue because she showed reactivity to unfamiliar things such as appliances, visitors in her new home etc. She has been doing well in her foster home building her confidence and experiencing new things. Hemi can be shy at first and will bark, but once she warms up she is very sweet and affectionate. She is good with other dogs however she would do best as an only dog so she can be the focus in her home. She is not good with cats. Hemi is housebroken and crate trained, but at times will have an accident due to her history of being crate kept, so it’s important her new home establishes a schedule with her. Hemi is not a high drive or energy dog. She will fetch the ball, and sometimes bring it back, but mostly she’s happy to chew on a bone and be with her people. Hemi knows basic commands and is working on place, go say hi, stand, and how to be handled for grooming. She is good with children ages 10+ that are used to dogs.
