King 18 was found as a stray and brought to a local animal control. He is on the younger side somewhere between 1-2 years old. He came to us underweight at 70 pounds but has been slowly gaining weight with several small meals per day. King has been with one of our foster home/trainers since joining GSR, and we are ready to start the search for his forever home. King is in need of an experienced GSD home that will be committed to his needs. King has excellent house manners and is crate trained. He will not be adopted to a home with children and will require a fenced yard with a privacy fence. King is social with both male and female dogs. He has met a few cats and done well. King needs a strong owner that is quick to recognize his body language. He gives appropriate time and warning when he is not comfortable in a new situation. His adoptive home will need to give him time to decompress and settle into a routine. King needs a home where there is low foot traffic until he is adjusted and has build trust. He will need slow introductions to visitors and this is only once when he trulyu is acclimated to his new home. Once he is comfortable with you he’s a sweet, silly dog. He has good food and ball drive. As his foster mom says, this will be a marathon, not a sprint for King and he needs a home that is truly dedicated to him.
