 Adoption / Foster Application

The first step in our adoption process is to complete an application. You will receive a confirmation email once your application is submitted.

GSR only adopts to applicants in the Chicagoland area.

The adoption application applies to all available dogs in our rescue. You will be contacted by a volunteer of the rescue ONLY when we have a dog available that matches your requirements. If you do not hear from a volunteer, that means the rescue does not have a suitable match currently available for adoption. All applications are kept on file for 3 months.

If a volunteer contacts you regarding your application, a meeting with your family and the dog in our rescue will be arranged.

References checks and a home visit will be completed prior to finalizing an adoption.

You can email applications@gsrescue1.org if you do not receive a confirmation email within 72 hours of submission of if you run into any issues with the form below.

Your answers on this application will help us to match your needs with the German Shepherd Dogs in our program. This application in no way obligates you to take a dog now or in the future.

If possible, please use a computer (as opposed to your phone) when filling out the application to avoid any form errors.
